St. George’s Brings On The Blues At The Legendary Country Store
The Blues on Main concert series returns to St. Georges this summer at the area’s headquarters for blues: Saint Georges Country Store.
The festivities kick off at noon, Saturday, June 20, with The Bruce Katz Band, Billy the Kid & The Regulators, and Tin Pan Playboys. Shows continue throughout the summer with Gary Allegretto headlining on July 18; the Mike Junior Blues Band kicking it with Dr. Harmonica & Rockett 88 on August 15; and the Matt G Legacy Fundraiser closing out the series on September 5.
The series is run by the Saint Georges Culture and Arts Revival Corporation with the effort captained by Gene Fontana, who has managed blues festivals in Delaware for more than three decades. Admission is free and the event is rain or shine.

Heather Cox’s FOMO: Events Bring DJ Dance Parties To Secret Delaware Locations
Local entrepreneur and EDM fan Heather Cox got tired of spending loads of cash traveling with friends to other larger mid-Atlantic cities just for the opportunity to spend a few hours dancing at high-priced DJ parties.
So, she made the decision to bring the parties to the First State.
“I’m trying to bring EDM and rave culture to the masses,” Cox said on a recent Instagram post. “I’m trying to bring community back to the EDM culture.”
There’s just one twist: Her parties are so underground, guests don’t know exactly where to go until the day of the event. It’s all part of her FOMO:DE party venture, which has put together 10 events so far since November.
“From coffee shops to pizza joints and bookstores, FOMO:DE transforms local businesses into unforgettable nightlife experiences,” the FOMO:DE website reads.
Sound like your idea of fun? Give it a whirl at one of three events planned this month.

Love Seed Mama Jump Heads North For Miniquas Fire Co. Benefit Show
In addition to catching Love Seed Mama Jump throughout the summer at The Rusty Rudder and Bottle & Cork, you can see them for a rare above-the-canal performance on June 16.
The legendary beach rockers will be heading north for a benefit show for Minquas Fire Company. Proceeds from the show will go to helping the department purchase a top-of-the-line LUCAS CPR device.
“To be able to play a gig where you are potentially helping to save lives is absolutely an honor,” says Love Seed bassist Pete Wiedmann, who has been with the band since their start in 1992. “It a privilege supporting firefighters, because they’re the ones running into burning buildings when everyone else is running out.”
The show will be held outdoors at the Minquas Fire Company in Newport starting at 6pm on Wednesday, June 10. Tickets are $20 before June 7 (then $25 after) and can be purchased using the ad link on page xx or by calling Bubba at the fire department: (302) 409-8864.
