Climate Documentary Premiers in Delaware
The Delaware premiere of Earth’s Greatest Enemy, hosted by Extinction Rebellion Delaware, will take place January 26 at 6 p.m. at The Screening Room (1313 N. Market St., Wilmington). Journalist Abby Martin’s documentary uncovers the U.S. military’s hidden environmental impact, revealing it as the world’s largest institutional polluter. Through investigative reporting, striking visuals, and stories from affected communities, the film challenges audiences to reconsider the military’s role in climate change. DelShakes Brings Twelfth Night From Stage To Screen
Delaware Shakespeare will screen Twelfth Night, O Lo Que Quieras, their bilingual musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, at Theatre N (221 W 10th St., Wilmington) on Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. Set in Illyria, the story follows Venezuelan twins Violeta and Sebastian amid political upheaval, blending Spanish, Shakespeare, and a touch of “Fake-speare” with lively music. Winter Race Tradition Returns
The Mayor’s Icicle Ten Miler & Snowflake 5K returns to downtown Wilmington on Saturday, January 10 marking its 43rd year as a winter tradition. Benefiting the Central and Walnut Street YMCA’s Annual Campaign, the event welcomes runners and walkers for a 5K or 10-mile race starting and ending at the Central YMCA (501 W 11th St., Wilmington), followed by a festive post-race celebration at DE.CO Wilmington. Special Exhibition Of Historic Aerial Photos
The Delaware City Library is marking Delaware City’s Bicentennial Year in 2026 with a special exhibition, An Aerial Photographic Retrospective of Delaware City from the Early 20th Century, opening Jan. 9 from 5–9 p.m. The month-long exhibit showcases the daring work of Benjamin Gardner “BG” Carpenter, who captured sweeping aerial views of Delaware City, Fort DuPont, the Port of Wilmington, and surrounding landscapes using a 45-pound camera while leaning out of a biplane. The opening reception will feature Carpenter’s grandson, photographer Ben Fournier, who curated the exhibition, and will debut an original aerial film of the Delaware City area created by his grandfather. Selected photographs will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the library. The exhibition continues throughout January at 250 5th Street, Delaware City. The annual celebration of beer brewed in New Castle County will kick off on President’s Day (Feb. 16, 2026) and continue through Feb. 22.
